Somervalley Foodbank Needs New Volunteers for our Warehouse Operation
Somervalley Foodbank always needs new volunteers but currently we are in need of volunteers to help at the Warehouse. The days we need help are Monday and Friday.
The Warehouse “normally” operates between the hours of 10.30 to 1pm on those days. Working as part of a team (4 to 6 volunteers) the main Warehouse activities are lifting and moving crates of food around the Warehouse and this includes weighing, recording and sorting food to place into stock.
Warehouse volunteers also prepare orders each week which we deliver to our network of Distribution Centres (DC’s). Those DC’s are located, in and around, the Somervalley where they provide food packages to those clients in need.
Ideally any new volunteers would be able and prepared to drive the Van for food delivery and collection.
