Giving but not as you know it.

11th September 2021

It seems strange that a foodbank would say ‘no, thank you’ to donations of food, especially at Harvest time!  However, throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, the people in this area have continued to be extremely generous in donating food, which means that our warehouse is still almost completely full.

We are however in the process of having to vacate our current free warehouse and move to

another slightly smaller warehouse, so we need to keep stocks at a manageable level for the move.  When in our new warehouse, we will have to start to pay rent.  So, if you are considering supporting the Somer Valley Foodbank this Harvest time, could I urge you to consider a financial rather than a food-based donation this year?  This would then be used to purchase any stock we were short of when we have the room to store it.  If you prefer, Tesco vouchers would be very useful.

The foodbank management team would again like to thank you the people of the Somer Valley area for their contributions and collections for the foodbank over the last few years.

The foodbank can be contacted on [email protected] or 07729523986.
