Donate food

Our foodbank relies on your goodwill and support.

Over 90% of the food distributed by foodbanks in The Trussell Trust network is donated by the public – that’s why your food donations are absolutely vital to our ability to give everyone referred to us a balanced and nutritious three day supply of food.

Our Most Needed list on the right shows the food items that we need this month.

We also have Monthly Most Needed posters that we can email to you (contact by email [email protected]). These posters can be downloaded/shared electronically or printed for display by community groups as well as in Churches and stores.

Could we ask that you please make sure all donations are long life, unopened, in-date and that they don’t need to be refrigerated. We are unable to take fresh, refrigerated or frozen foods as we do not have the capability or capacity to store these foods.

WAYS TO GIVE

1. You can buy items at many Supermarkets and Stores across our local community and place them in our Somervalley Foodbank Collection baskets.

2. You can donate items through Community collection points detailed in the table below. Items do need to be in date and unopened.

3. You can donate through our NEW Online Shop please use the link here >>>

Give Today Shop

4. You can give a Financial Donation, please open the Donate Money page in this Website and follow instructions. We will continue to use donated money to purchase foods where the need is greatest.

5. You can download the Bank The Food App and follow us (Somervalley Foodbank) to get notifications about what we need and where you can donate.

If you are happy to drop off food donations, please see the table below for our food collection point locations.

Please do not drop off food when a distribution centre is open, as this causes problems when we are dealing with clients.  Thank you.

Added to the above drop off points there are now baskets in Thatcher and Hallam solicitors in the reception area and also Baron’s estate agents.

Please contact us if you have any questions about donating food.

The foodbank management team would again like to thank you the people of the Somer Valley area for their contributions and collections for the foodbank over the last few years. Thank you.
